Excitement as Maurid College of Nursing Sciences matriculates new students in grand style

Governing Council, Management, and Academic Board of Maurid College of Nursing Sciences have announced the institution’s 2nd Matriculation Ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, 13th June, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the College Sports Ground, Mbiaso, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
According to a statement made available to journalists, the matriculation ceremony represents a major academic milestone for newly admitted students, who will formally take the matriculation oath and be inducted as bona fide members of the College community. The institution noted that the event also symbolizes the beginning of a structured journey in professional nursing education and healthcare training.
The management emphasized that Maurid College of Nursing Sciences remains committed to excellence in nursing education, professional ethics, and quality healthcare service delivery.
It further stated that the College is focused on producing competent, compassionate, and globally competitive healthcare professionals capable of addressing evolving health challenges.
The ceremony is expected to be chaired by Ini Ememobong, while the Special Guest of Honour will be Dr. (Mrs.) Eno Attah. Their presence, according to the institution, underscores the importance of collaboration between government, policymakers, and educational institutions in strengthening the healthcare system.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include the Chairman of Maurid Group of Schools, Maurid Group of Schools, Dr. Godwin Umontuen, and the Proprietress of the College, Mrs. Confidence Umontuen, who will serve as hosts of the ceremony.
Also expected are the Spiritual Father of the Day, Pastor Efe Augustine, and the Royal Father of the Day, HRM Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong, alongside other distinguished guests from the education, healthcare, traditional, and religious sectors.
The statement further noted that the matriculation ceremony reflects the College’s commitment to raising a new generation of highly skilled nursing professionals who will contribute meaningfully to the advancement of healthcare services in Nigeria and beyond. It described the occasion as both a celebration of academic progress and a reaffirmation of the institution’s vision for excellence.
