Primate Ayodele urges FG to tackle insecurity, warns against attacks on Fulanis

Leader, INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on the Federal Government to urgently address the nation’s security challenges, warning that failure to do so could trigger attacks on innocent Fulani people and deepen tensions across the country.

Speaking at the international headquarters of his church in Lagos, the renowned cleric expressed concern over what he described as growing frustrations among Nigerians arising from persistent insecurity in several parts of the country.

According to Primate Ayodele, the government must take decisive and visible steps to address security threats and reassure citizens that efforts are being made to protect lives and property.

He warned that if the situation is not properly managed, innocent members of the Fulani community could become targets of attacks, a development he said could further destabilise the country and create avoidable crises.

The cleric stressed that insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges confronting Nigeria and urged relevant authorities to implement effective measures aimed at restoring confidence in the nation’s security architecture.

Primate Ayodele noted that addressing the root causes of insecurity and ensuring justice for victims of violent crimes would help prevent reprisals and communal tensions.

“Some Nigerians may start attacking Fulani, and this can create a crisis,” he said.

“The Federal Government must do something urgent about this Fulani matter because it is going to be very serious.”

He appealed to Nigerians to remain law-abiding and avoid taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing that collective peace and national unity can only be sustained through dialogue, justice and effective governance.

The religious leader further urged security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and strengthen efforts to prevent violence, while calling on community leaders and stakeholders to promote peaceful coexistence among the country’s diverse ethnic groups.

Primate Ayodele’s warning comes amid ongoing concerns over security challenges in various parts of the country, with many Nigerians continuing to call for stronger government action to curb criminal activities and safeguard communities.

He maintained that urgent and proactive measures by the Federal Government would not only prevent potential conflicts but also reinforce national stability and unity.
