Consumers in Lagos were treated to an unforgettable blend of flavour, culture, and entertainment at the 2026 edition of the Golden Penny Food and Soup Festival, an event that lived up to its billing as one of the most exciting culinary gatherings of the year.

From the very first moments, the atmosphere reflected the rich diversity and vibrant spirit of Lagos. Guests were ushered into a carefully curated experience that went far beyond food, delivering a full-day celebration of taste, music, and shared cultural identity.

The event kicked off at the lively Breakfast Zone, where a variety of delicious morning meals and treats set the tone for what would become a day of indulgence. Attendees moved seamlessly into the Lunch Zone as the day progressed, where an array of mouthwatering pasta and noodle dishes kept both plates and spirits full.

One of the major highlights of the festival was the Soup Village, a standout attraction that showcased over 20 different indigenous soups from across Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.

Each dish told a unique cultural story and was paired perfectly with the ever-popular Golden Penny Semovita, creating a satisfying “taste of home” experience for attendees.

Adding to the excitement were the dynamic hosts, Kie Kie and Password, whose vibrant chemistry and engaging stage presence kept the crowd energized throughout the event.

Their seamless interaction with the audience ensured there was never a dull moment.

The festival also featured a series of competitions that brought out the creativity and enthusiasm of participants.

From intense cooking battles to energetic dance face-offs, the contests kept spectators on their feet, cheering and fully immersed in the experience.

As evening approached, the festival grounds transformed into a concert arena, with thrilling performances from Shoday, Segun Johnson, Shody, and Crowd Kontroler.

The excitement reached its peak when Olamide took to the stage, delivering a performance that electrified the crowd and brought the event to a memorable climax.

Organizers described the festival as more than just an event, calling it “the party of the year,” and expressed appreciation to attendees whose energy and enthusiasm made the experience truly special.

Participants were encouraged to relive the highlights and stay updated on future events through Golden Penny Foods’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Indeed, the 2026 Golden Penny Food and Soup Festival was not just a celebration of food; it was a vibrant expression of culture, community, and unforgettable moments that left Lagos buzzing long after the final performance.
