His action marks a significant entry into the race for the House of Representatives, positioning him as one of the early contenders seeking to represent the constituency at the federal level.

Addressing supporters shortly after picking the form, Smith pledged to deliver what he described as “effective and rewarding representation,” stressing that his aspiration is driven by a desire to bring meaningful development and responsive leadership to the people.

According to him, his candidacy represents a new chapter in the political evolution of the constituency, offering a blend of experience, vision, and people-oriented governance.

“My aspiration marks a significant development in the political landscape of Etinan Federal Constituency,” he said. “I am committed to providing leadership that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of our people.”

Smith noted that his campaign, anchored on the slogan “Ubok Utom Abasi” (God’s Hand of Peace), is already gaining traction across communities within the constituency, signaling growing grassroots acceptance.

He emphasized that his agenda would focus on grassroots development, inclusive representation, and responsive leadership, adding that his approach would ensure that all segments of the constituency feel adequately represented.

“I am campaigning on a platform centered on grassroots development, inclusive representation, and responsive leadership. Our people deserve a voice that listens, acts, and delivers,” he added.
Supporters who attended the brief declaration event expressed confidence in his candidacy, describing him as a people-focused leader with a track record of community engagement and service.

They noted that his entry into the race introduces a fresh dynamic capable of reshaping the contest, adding that his message of renewed hope is already resonating widely among constituents.

“Dr. Smith has consistently shown commitment to the people. His aspiration is not just timely but necessary for a new direction,” one supporter said.

Observers believe that his emergence could intensify political activities within the constituency as aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.

With momentum gradually building, Smith’s candidacy is expected to play a significant role in shaping the political discourse in Etinan Federal Constituency in the months ahead.
