FENRAD Executive Director, Nwafor, recognised as Hero of Our Time

Human Rights Activist and Executive Director, Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy & Development (FENRAD), Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor, has been named a recipient of the prestigious Mirror Newspaper Excellence Award for Heroes of Our Time.

This honour recognises his outstanding contributions to environmental advocacy, human rights protection, and sustainable development in Nigeria.

The award, presented by the Editorial Board of Mirror Newspaper in collaboration with independent assessors, celebrates individuals whose efforts have created lasting societal impact and inspired positive change across communities and sectors nationwide.

Through his leadership at FENRAD, Comrade Nwafor has championed environmental justice and civic accountability, spearheading initiatives that empower communities to demand their rights and protect their environment.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place during the Mirror Newspaper National Conference and Award Ceremony on April 23, 2026, at the LCCI Conference & Exhibition Centre in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
