INRI Primate corrects misconceptions about prophecies, issues warning to Edo Governor

Founder and Primate of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned the Governor of Edo State against what he described as obstinacy and disregard for prophetic warnings, stressing that prophecies are meant to guide and protect, not to instil fear or predict doom.

Primate Ayodele made the remarks during a night vigil held as part of activities marking the 2026 annual convention of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Lagos.

According to the cleric, he has previously issued several prophecies concerning Edo State and the challenges the current governor would encounter in office.

However, he noted that the governor allegedly ignored these warnings, interpreting them as personal attacks rather than divine guidance.

“I warned Edo State; I have said a lot about what the governor of Edo State will face,” Primate Ayodele said.

“Unfortunately, the governor believes that Ayodele does not like him, which is why he sees the prophecy as doom. It is not doom.”

He emphasised that genuine prophecies are not intended to condemn leaders but to alert them to unseen dangers and help them take proactive steps to avert crises.

“Any prophecy from a prophet of God is never a doom,” he stated. “It is meant to warn you about impending events you cannot see, so that you can prepare and take the necessary actions.”

Primate Ayodele explained that prophetic warnings help leaders recognise both visible and hidden threats, particularly from political opponents and adversaries.

“I told him that the opposition will trouble him and make him lose focus,” he said. “What should be done is to seek the face of the Lord and allow Him to handle all necessary issues.”

He further predicted that the Edo State government would face persistent challenges and instability if corrective measures are not taken.

“It is going to be an unsettled government—right, left and centre,” he warned.

Addressing responses to his prophecies, Primate Ayodele maintained that public rebuttals would not stop divine warnings from manifesting, noting that he would not engage in arguments over his messages.

“If you don’t like it, you can come out and reply. The internet is free; everyone has freedom of speech,” he said. “But the more you respond, the easier you make the word come to pass.”

While stressing that he does not desire negative prophecies to be fulfilled, Primate Ayodele said divine instructions ultimately determine outcomes.

“One thing I don’t like is when negative prophecies come to pass; I pray they do not,” he said.

“But when God decides that certain things must happen because people are stubborn and arrogant, then it will come to pass.”
