Ilorin Attack: Focus Foundation staff member hospitalized after assault

A personal assistant to the pioneer of Focus Foundation, Olanrewaju Babalola, was attacked by gunmen at his residence in Ilorin on June 1, 2025.
The incident occurred at 15 Upper Gaa Akanbi, a location used by Focus Foundation members for their weekly meetings.
According to Babalola, the armed men sought the whereabouts of Focus Foundation pioneer Temitope Stephen Bamidele, intending to kill him.
Bamidele had previously escaped a kidnapping attempt on June 2, 2024, at 20 Oke Ogun Close, which forced him to relocate due to safety concerns.
The gunmen assaulted Babalola when he couldn’t provide information about Bamidele’s whereabouts.
However, the Danialu community vigilante group intervened, preventing further harm. Babalola was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital’s accident and emergency department.
The Nigerian Police are currently investigating the incident.
