Ikeja Metro Lions donate newly constructed toilet block to Ifako Ijaiye Senior Comprehensive High School

The Ikeja Metro Lions Club, a member of Lions Clubs International, has continued its tradition of community service by commissioning a core project for the 2024-2025 Lions year.

The club donated a newly constructed block of five toilets to the students of Ifako Ijaiye Senior Comprehensive High School in Lagos.

According to the club President, Lion Chike Akaeze, the project is part of the club’s commitment to serving the community and improving the lives of those in need.

The club conducted a needs assessment and identified the school’s requirement for additional toilets to accommodate its students and enhance their learning environment.

Despite the challenges of funding and government approval, the club remained committed to its plan, driven by its love for community service. The donation is a testament to the club’s dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

The Ikeja Metro Lions Club has been actively involved in various service activities throughout the year, creating awareness on cholera and healthy environments, donating environmental tools, empowering youth, sensitizing and donating medical equipment to help curb childhood cancer

Also conducting free eye screenings and medication, distributing food items for hunger relief, visiting and donating provisions to orphanage homes, donating writing materials and school bags to primary schools and creating awareness on diabetes management.

“The club’s efforts demonstrate its commitment to serving humanity and making a difference in the community”, he stressed.

The school staff and students expressed their joy and thanked the Club for such gesture.

They also promised to make good use of the facility.
