17 Lagos party leaders unite against APC, vows to kick ruling party out in 2027

Accuse LASIEC of complicit in favoring APC during elections

In a bold move, chairmen of various 17 political parties in Lagos have vowed to collaborate and challenge the dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The party leaders made this declaration at the News Central Chairmen’s Dialogue, a landmark forum convened by News Central TV to discuss the complex nature of politics in Nigeria’s largest city.

The event, which brought together representatives from 17 registered political parties in Lagos, provided a platform for stakeholders to explore the challenges and opportunities that define governance and political competition in the state.

The party leaders expressed concerns over the APC’s alleged interference in the affairs of smaller parties, electoral malpractice, and the unequal playing field in the electoral process.

Some party chairmen emphasized the need for collaboration between parties to put an end to the APC’s hegemony.

They argued that by working together, they can create a more level playing field and ensure that the voices of all parties are heard.

The party leaders also alleged that the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has been complicit in favoring the APC during elections.

However, no response has been recorded from LASIEC representatives at the time of reporting.
