ISMDS postpones conference, induction, sets November 14 for ceremony

Institute of Sports Management and Development Studies (ISMDS) has announced the postponement of its One-Day National Conference and Direct Membership Induction Ceremony earlier scheduled for October 22nd, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Institute, through the Chief Executive Officer and Registrar, Rev. Dr. Stanley Ihedigbo, DFSM, the conference and induction ceremony have now been rescheduled to Saturday, November 14, 2026.
The event, which is expected to bring together professionals, academics, sports administrators, policymakers, industry stakeholders and other guests, will feature the Institute’s National Conference as well as the direct induction of qualified professionals into various categories of ISMDS membership.
The programme is scheduled to hold at the LCCI Conference & Exhibition Centre, 10 Nurudeen Olowopopo Street, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The Institute explained that the decision to move the programme from October to November was taken to enable adequate preparation for a successful conference and induction ceremony.
ISMDS appealed to all members, prospective members, guests, partners and the general public to bear with the Institute over the date change.
The statement noted that the postponement does not affect the Institute’s commitment to advancing professionalism, knowledge, leadership and development in the sports management sector.
The Institute further encouraged professionals who are yet to complete their registration to take advantage of the extended period to register and participate in the November 14 programme.
The conference and induction ceremony will provide an opportunity for qualified professionals to formally join the Institute and connect with other practitioners and stakeholders within the sports management and development sector.
Membership categories include Associate Membership, Full Membership and Fellow Membership, with members expected to benefit from professional recognition, career advancement opportunities, continuous professional development, networking and enhanced professional credibility.
The Institute reiterated its appreciation to members, partners, guests and the public for their understanding, patience and continued support.
It urged all concerned to take note of the new date and make the necessary arrangements to attend the programme.
The new date is Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the LCCI Conference & Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
