Born in Warri, Delta State, Mary Ugomma Ukandu hails originally from Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.

She is the youngest of six children born to the late His Royal Majesty, Eze Isaac Ukandu, and Her Royal Highness, Adanma Ukandu, a retired matriarch.

Growing up in Warri, Ukandu completed her primary and secondary education in the city before proceeding to the University of Benin, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree.
