Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, youths, women, party faithful, and stakeholders in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State have thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Hon. Onwurah Nduka Felix of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the House of Representatives seat.

The endorsement, which took place during a gathering of party leaders and supporters in Ojo, was described by participants as a strategic move aimed at attracting development and quality representation to the constituency.

Supporters of the aspirant said their decision was influenced by Onwurah’s philanthropic activities, humanitarian contributions and longstanding commitment to community development in the area.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the endorsement ceremony featured the symbolic presentation of the party’s flag and insignia to the aspirant by APGA leaders, signifying acceptance, unity and confidence in his candidature ahead of the polls.

Party members and supporters also donated campaign materials to demonstrate their readiness to mobilise support for the aspirant across the constituency.

Speaking during the event, the APGA National Youth Chairman for the South-West, Hon. Edwin Izuchukwu, described Onwurah as a formidable political figure whose popularity and grassroots connection distinguished him from other contenders in the race.

According to Izuchukwu, APGA has presented a credible and capable candidate for the Ojo Federal Constituency seat.

“We have a better contender for the House of Representatives in Hon. Onwurah Nduka Felix. He is a household name in Ojo politics and someone whose social pedigree towers above many of his contemporaries.

“This is the time for party members and supporters to work harder to ensure victory at the polls,” he said.

Also speaking, the APGA Women Leader in Ojo LGA, Lolo Ebele Omutah, said the aspirant had consistently demonstrated compassion and commitment to the welfare of the people through several humanitarian projects.

She recalled how Onwurah donated his personal property for use as a community clinic when residents faced challenges accessing healthcare services.

“When the community lacked a hospital, and women had to travel long distances for medical attention and childbirth services, Hon. Onwurah donated his house to serve as a clinic.

“He also built and donated a police station to improve security in the area. These are the actions of a man who truly cares about the people.

“If given a bigger platform like the House of Representatives, the constituency will benefit immensely from his leadership,” she said.

A former House of Representatives aspirant in the constituency, Mr. Udame Ufot-Anthony, said Onwurah’s track record of service and community development made him deserving of massive support.

He urged supporters to embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation and house-to-house campaigns to ensure victory for the APGA candidate in 2027.
Similarly, the Ojo Youth Vanguard (OYV), a socio-political pressure group in the area, formally declared support for the aspirant following its quarterly meeting held at the group’s headquarters in Ojo.

In a resolution signed by its Chairman, Mr. Jimi Lawal, and made available to journalists, the group stated that its decision would be communicated to relevant stakeholders across the local government area as part of preparations for the general elections.

Lawal said the group supports candidates based on credibility, popularity, capacity and chances of electoral success, irrespective of political affiliation.

“The APGA candidate for the House of Representatives is a household name in the constituency whose vision aligns with the aspirations of the people.

“Beyond his popularity among youths and women, Flex, as he is fondly called, possesses the political strength and structure needed to triumph at the polls,” he stated.

Also lending his voice, Mr. Femi Dada, a student leader in the constituency, said Onwurah’s manifesto reflects the desires of young people, especially in the area of human capital development.

He noted that youths in the constituency were prepared to deploy their networks and mobilisation structures to ensure the success of the aspirant during the elections.

In his acceptance speech, an elated Onwurah Nduka Felix thanked party members, supporters and residents for the confidence reposed in him.

He assured the people that he was prepared to deliver effective representation and quality leadership if elected into office.

“I am not in this race to learn the job after being elected. The programmes, plans and measures needed to achieve meaningful development have already been mapped out,” he said.

Onwurah also urged party members and supporters to intensify efforts in mobilising more people into the party fold ahead of the 2027 general elections.
